Spec me an ADSL2+ wirless router plz

I'll be following this thread as I too need to buy a wireless router w/ADSL2+.

Netgear DG834N seems to be a good one, anybody got anything bad to say about it?

I've got a DG834N here, had no trouble so far and the pre-n wireless seems to work very well with my MacBook Pro.

Only thing I miss from my old DrayTek routers was the QoS features and the bandwidth throttling on a port/vlan basis.

I did have a few things bad to say about it but I'm now much happier. My biggest problem with the DG834N was that I couldn't get wireless to work with any consitency. I could put my laptop a couple of feet away from it and it would connect for a few seconds and then drop. The answer was to change the wireless channel from "Auto" to "12" and it has been flawless all over the house ever since. I have no idea why this should be but it works so I'm not worrying about it ! Works fine with my XBox360 via wireless too.

Otherwise it seems to work as advertised.

Anything on offer from Linksys? I'm in the market right now too, would rather not go with Netgear but its better then the BeBrick :p

Assuming you are with Be* from your comment, you would actually be best off getting a Netgear as they use Broadcom modem chipsets which are what is recomended by Be* as it matches the DSLAMS they use in their exchanges.

Do you want to use the wireless function for online gaming?

Hi,just got in from work, thanks for the posts.

As for online gaming yes from my PC and at a later date i'll be getting a console as well.

What Netgear model do you reccomend?

EDIT: i forgot to mention i'll be upgrading to BE broadband in November ;)

Just out of interest atm i am using a SpeedTouch 516(v5) Multi-User ADSL2+ Gateway router..will this be ok for BE Broadband until i decide to go wireless? (i've had it for ages)

Be* provide a Speedtouch 700somthing with some custom firmware on it to their customers, it has wireless and for most uses is more than adequate, I just choose not to use it and I also wanted the faster wireless speeds for my laptop that are provided by the DG834N.
