Need a full atx air cooled build with amd cpu and nvidia gpu and good vrm's, don't want to overclock I just need rock solid stability and a decent psu mem and gpu with 1TB boot & 2TB NVMe games drive version 4.0 minimum. Buget is around £1,500 or thereabouts. Games that are of interest are Final Fantasy 14 upwards. If that means Intel, so be it. I have Windows 10 Pro so should be ok there.

Many thanks.

Solid choice thanks, what case would be best for this build airflow wise, it's going to be stuffed under a desk with plenty of airflow back to front.
My bad I added the below case or so I thought , apologies.

Comes with 6 fans but a bit wider.

Best to pick what you like

Thanks I'm just watching this as we speak, I just need air movement not flex and lights.
So use to speccing RGB builds but the antec are great value with 6 fans .

The nzxt flow case is good then and some arctic p12s , the p12 pst can link together.

CPU cooler non RGB

different approach, as Final Fantasy is single player game, guessing visuals are more important than outright frames, so go 7600 cpu with a higher gpu..4080 out of budget (would be my preferred) but can have a 4070ti super in there...not sure what resolution you play at
lian li 216 excellent airflow case..just gone non rgb throught.. has 2 x 160mm fans in front so more airflow for less rpm, so quieter

7600 still and excellent cpu for gaming. below shows 7600.4070ti combo vs a 4070/7800x3d combo..so just see types of games. competetive shooters where you play at 1080 and want higherst frames, it's the 7800x3d..that's when cpu getting maxed...higher res, high graphics settings, it switches to gpu, as that's the bottleneck and cpu doesn't work so hard

can go for peerless assasin air cooler too. £30 with twin tower cooling stacks..if you upgrade your cpu down the line and want to have slightly more cooling capacity..but freezer 36 ecxcellent too

Thanks for your input Craig_d1 another solid choice, I'm still looking at cases. The lian Li's appear to have a vent for the psu at the side, the 207 is slightly slimmer with the psu mounted up front. 1440p mostly Windowed Mode. Moving from gen1 ryzen with 1080 so either of those choices would be great.

Which extra 2TB drive would you buy for the following.

As far as I can see it allows for 1x gen 4 and 1x gen 3, also are Overclockers ok with chucking your own extra drive into a pre-built.

Storage
AMD B550 Chipset
∙ 4x SATA 6Gb/s ports
∙ 2x M.2 slots (Key M)
▪ M2_1 slot (from AMD processor)
▫ Supports PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x4 *
▫ Supports SATA 6Gb/s
▫ Supports 2242/ 2260/ 2280 storage devices
▪ M2_2 slot (from AMD B550 chipset)
▫ Supports PCIe 3.0x4
▫ Supports 2242/ 2260/ 2280 storage devices

you're buying an am4 platform though. eol with no upgrade path...the am5 7600 cpu will perform on av slightly ahead of the 5700x3d. i peersonally wouldn't buy am4 new now(only 2nd hand for budget build)...too old, and I have an am4 build at home. As well as an am5. i advise against am4

Ok understood, so which pre-built would you go for instead ?

Thank you both, PC chose and on it's way, something got lost in translation re the case&cooler combo, but it's all good.
Craig, thanks again for your help very late into the evening trying to unscramble my lack of knowledge of the newest tech these days.
Will have to wait and see what PSU they provide!

was that cheaper than just sending in a custom config?

at the very least dont include the 4tb drive...they're charging £320 for it, but you can buy one on offer at mo for £220...that's an overcharge of £100 for nothing..takes 2 mins to install one..as a guide, psu they generally put a cheap one in unless you ring thenm and ask to swap it..and also no idea which mobo they using. below is the same pc, using same parts(put a cheaper psu/mobo to reflect probably what you'll get). the black case was out, but this one is extactly same price as the white one they had in stock...just making you aware is all

The Motherboard is an Asus B650 Plus WiFi, best guess on the PSU is Aerocool Integrator Gold 850W 80 Plus Gold
PSU Sticker: SNGIM85FKC3470413
Made a couple of slight mistakes, the main boot drive was supposed to be 1TB SN850X which turned into an SN770. We did ask for a change but they said it was to late even though it wasn't delivered until the end of said week. And the case, no idea what happened with that. So yeah about £300 for the build vs build your own
He's happy so far so all good and thanks again all for the spec help.

I did have one other question though, which port do I use to backup the OCUK Bios settings to usb stick, the one marked flashback ?

Tbh, haven't tried, but bios fashback is when loading a bios on, and you don't need to power up the pc (as long as the psu is powered on and connected to mobo, bios flashback will work), so that specific usb port must have power in order to download the bios update.
As saving your current bios, your pc will already be powered on as you'll have to be in the bios to save a copy. once you're in, then plug the usb you want to save to in the back and as the pc is powered, I think any usb will be recognised at this point as they'll all have power going to them..so I think you can use any, but using the bios flashback one will work as well
maybe someone else can enlighten, but if you're going to save it anyway, you can test..it wont break anything...when you plug the drive into a usb slot, the bios will either recognise your drive or not..
