Hi, I've been building up my av system slowly. Have now got 5 Kenwood CM-7ES as Satellites and a Sony SA-WMSP3 Sub. The amp i've got is a Sony AVD-S10 which is linked to the optical out from my tv which isn't giving me proper surround.

So I'm looking for a sub £200 amp which has 4 HDMI ins on the back (SkyHD, PS4, PS4, Xbox 360) I'm not looking for any other features but would be nice to have wireless streaming etc if it fits the budget. I'm also a bit of a Sony fan boy but if the other amps are quite a bit better I'd So be happy to go with another brand.

So far I've looked at the Yamaha RXV375, Pioneer VSX323 and the Sony STR-DN840.

Thanks in advance :)

It's basic, but Richer sounds are doing the Denon AVRX500 for £99.95 to VIP members at the moment. Doesn't have anything on the streaming side but you could possibly spend the extra on a dock of some sort, or even a bluetooth dongle (although potentially that wont sound as good).

Out of the ones listed the Yammy and Pioneer are really a level below the Sony.
That would be the one I would go for if it was my money.

RS have that Yam and Pioneer both for sub £150, whereas the Sony is £200 so I don't think you're comparing like for like with your budget.
RXV575 & VSX923 would be a better comparison - but they're £30 more.... So the Sony wins by default as the best choice under £200?

Like usual for people specing stuff. I've just seen the STRDN1040 for £100 more and also don't have to go and pick it up. Will i notice a £100 difference between them?

It's got upscaling and 2 HDMI out, so if either of those are useful then go for it.

It is easy to keep looking at the next model and say "that would be useful", but I think you
have to draw the line somewhere and stick to your budget.

I was in the same boat, initially looking at a £100 soundbar, to then looking at AVR and
speakers at £500. I had to reign myself in and went budget, very happy with it.

I assume it would upscale the a/v from the Sky+HD box as i have a HD box but I'm only using the free HD channels.

Well I've ordered the 1040. Spoke to a sales adviser. I know they always want to sell the more expensive product but he said that sound processor is a lot better and it's a bit more powerful. I'd probably only regret getting the cheaper one after a while. Thanks for your help people :)
