quite like the sound of James Taylor, Kate Nash etc and I love classic spanish guitar. I'm looking for a new nice background, easy listening album, what do you recommend?

Hmmmmm the wrong forum.

But I have just heard a track by Pizzicato Five and they weren't too bad. It might be the sort of stuff you're after. I don't really listen to the genre any more but I seem to remember Morcheeba being quite relaxing.

Nouvelle Vague - Band Á Part
Brilliant chilled album with ltos of Latin reworkings of popular songs by a variety of vocalists. They also have another album entitled simply Nouvelle Vague. Band Á Part contains a track called Dance With Me which Im gonna go out on a limb and say is possibly my favourite track ever.

David Ford - I Sincerely Apologise for all the Trouble Ive Caused

Got this on recommendation from a friend....it can be a little bit dreary at times, but is still an excellent accoustic album nonetheless, especially I Dont Care What You Call Me

Damien Rice - 9 and O
Another great pair of albums in my opinion. Again, can be a bit dreary, but a lot of it is simple accoustic and piano work. 9 Crimes and Accidental Babies are great tracks in particular.

Good shout on Morcheeba Greenlizard. If you want some really awesome haunting ambient work keep a look out for anything by Stars of the Lid. Ive just discovered them myself, its the sort of album you can throw on and leave playing for hours on end and it just kind of 'there'....quite haunting with no lyrics but its great because you can have it on while reading or somehting, and it doesn't 'intrude' if that makes sense.

Might be a bit of an odd suggestion but The White Stripes earlier stuff like De Stijl and The White stripes are very good albums heavily blues influenced. Actually all their discography is very very good imo.

Not completely acoustic but VERY easy listening album = Buckethead - Colma

"The album was recorded for Buckethead's mother as she was ill with colon cancer and he wanted to make an album she would enjoy listening to while recovering." - Wikipedia
