Spec me an encrypted USB flash drive

Didn't the Reg or a similar rag show how to circumvent some of these a while ago in a pretty simple fashion? Something to do with bypassing some chip with a bit of wire and solder? Be careful which one you buy :)

1. Buy normal usb flash drive
2. Use Truecrypt

It depends what you are wanting to do, do you have control of the different computers you are going to be using to install stuff on, if so the above will do the job

Guys can someone please tell me what benefit you would have using an encrypted usb key over a normal one? Is it for people only using the device on a designated PC i.e if you stole the key you would not be able to use it anywhere else?

As on my work PC I have a key I use which is always attached to the unit and store all my backups on it (mainly incase of HDD failure rather then security), what benifit would I see getting one of these 'Iron Keys'?

Thanks in advance,

Rich

Truecrypt, i use AES-Twofish-Serpent

not really found anything more powerful?

mabye carry it around with you on a neck chain, that way its 100% secure
