that's what i have i believe - defo a roger black one with 16 tension controls.

doesnt have a plastic seat but has a slightly padded leather look one.

can do 10miles or an hour on it no probs....

would recomend a portable dvd player too as i like to watch the hurt locker and stuff whilst doing it. makes the pain i'm going through seem easier....:o

as long as you don't over eat after a workout the weight will come off, just gotta resist those 2 big-mac urges after 4 hours in the saddle hehe, exercise and eat well and the weight will come off.

out of those 2 the Bremshey looks better to me, magnet resistance over a belt drive just sounds more durable but wether it is or not i have no idea.

On a static bike I can get my heart rate upto 80-90% of my max, why doesn't that burn calories any different to jogging?
For some reason a lot of people look down on static bikes. I can't see what difference it makes, as long as the activity gets your heart rate into the fat burning zone. After all, your heart isn't really going to know the difference between riding a real bike, riding a static bike, jogging on a treadmill etc.

Edit: I'm not suggesting that using a static bike is the most efficient means of burning calories, just that it shouldn't be dismissed as not being "real exercise". They're useful in the winter, where the short days and bad weather would keep you from going for a real ride or a run.

It's not looking down on static bikes at all. they have their place.
When time restricted you want to make the most of that time, a static bike is not the best way to make use of the time if you want to do cardio.
