You may have seen in some of my other threads I have (perhaps naively) took the plunge into the mining abyss and splashed out a stupid amount of money on GPU's in the desperate bid to make a few dollars.

I know my four cards (3 x R9 290 & 1 x 7990) will get extremely hot, so I've opted to put them in the cellar where they can generate heat and noise to their hearts content.

Please don't comment on my choice of GPU or tell me I'm stupid for doing it - I like to learn from my (potential) mistakes! :p

With this in mind, I'm looking for some seriously awesome fans to blow and suck the hot air away from the cards. Noise is absolutely not an issue - purely performance here.

Thanks very much in advance.

Desk fans would probably be easiest tbh. No need to ghetto rig them to anything and the solid base means they won't move when left unattended.

Unless you're actually going to try and squeeze that lot in a case or two?

OcUK Golf ball fans, on sale for £3 as their clearing stock (I assume).

A word to the wise though, if you put something generating heat in the coldest room on earth and shut the door it will heat the room, the only factor is time.

Yeah seriously just put them on a desk and stick a deskfan next to them. Forget cases, you are mining. And leave the cellar door open or you will come to a cellar that has turned into a "Sauna" with the cards dead.

... If you do manage to make a Sauna though, tell me. I'll come over and visit.

The deltas are good but at the end of the day they cost 5x what the golfs do and don't give anything near 5x the performance. If you can use desk fans then I back that idea but for normal fans nothing on the market can touch the OcUK golf fan firesale right now.

Indeed, i quite like the golfs myself, (owned the sharkoon ones). Just a shame ocuk no longer keep the red and black models. Would suit my build nicely.
