I have run out of HDMI ports on my TV yet I have more devices to connect to my TV. Can anyone recommend me a good 4K compatible HDMI switch that would allow me to connect at least 3 if not 4 HDMI devices? I think I have 3 HDMI ports on the TV so I could get two HDMI switches to give me plenty of capacity. If I need to set a budget, is £40-50 a switch OK?

You can pickup a Denon AVS-3 8K switch for that sort of budget. It was released by Denon/Marantz when the whole 2.1 debacle with their receivers happened.

Allows for full 2.1 4k 120hz pass through.

Will you need full HDMI 2.1 support? VRR, 120hz 4K? or HDMI 2.0- HDR 4K 60hz?
Err... don't know. Don't think I have anything that can do 120Hz. Although I think my Xbox Series X can?

Ooh thanks! Good find. What 2.1 debacle?
or ;)

Thought I'd screwed up my typing on the budget for a moment when I saw how much that costs!
I use this one. Does what it says.

HDMI Switch 4K 120Hz 8K 60Hz, 5 In 1 Out HDMI Splitter Switch with IR Remote, 5 Port HDMI 2.1 Switcher HDMI Selector 5x1 HDR 48Gbps https://amzn.eu/d/6vkER8v
Is that a reputable make? I've heard of Denon so an extra £3 isn't a problem to pay for a known brand.

You could use this hahaha

If you want a audio system,.a avr like that Denon avr will work well, plus have plenty of hdmi in and out.

If you're gaming you want hdmi 2.1 hdmi avr/switch and also hdmi 2.1 TV

Denon/Marantz had a load of amps released that didn’t quite work properly with Series X and possibly other inputs even though they were ‘2.1’. The first range of 2.1 av amps were really rather broken. One work around was using these switches as inputs which I think Denon/Marantz ended up offering to early customers for free.

Anyway, I’ve got one of these switches and it’s a nice compact little thing and works just fine especially for that price. At one point they were £100

Oof. That's an expensive bit of kit. Can't even comprehend how much money you'd have to earn or have in the bank to even think of affording one of them. :p

I have the Xbox Series X, two computers and a Blu-Ray player but might be getting more hardware to connect to the TV so thinking of expansion capability now.

Ah right. So they had to release this switch to actually support 2.1?

Not many of them are but it's a switch at the end of the day lol. I've had it for ages and zero issues. If wanna go Denon one go for it, will do the same job just less ports.

Consider a AV system? AVR have more HDMI

Buy speakers, sub, center, surrounds etc.

Would need a much, much bigger house to even think about having space for a proper AV system. :(
