Hello all...

Previously experiences include...

BT - Who I hated
Pipex - Who I really liked, gave me a dedicated line, never went down etc, then got taken over by Tiscali...and well lets not go there
and now Sky - which the speed has gradually gotten worse so now I get 1mb at best :( (was at 3mb on Pipex)

So I'm sick of Sky....so who else would people recommend?

I hate these 'upto 8mb' types...even though they are everywhere...I want someone to give me a dedicated speed, is this so hard to ask?

No monthly download limit, or fair use policy. We have 6 heavy internet users in the house at any given time.

Suggestions people? :)

Thanks,
Jake

Check on samknows what is available in your area.

Is cable available?

O2 get my vote if they have LLU in your exchange.

Right, Samknows says...

BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale SDSL
AOL LLU
O2 / Be LLU
Bulldog LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Tiscali LLU
Tiscali TV (via Tiscali LLU)
Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo)

Are available...well BT I hate, AOL....just lol, Hmm...Be....now I've always wanted to try them. Bulldog, once before...never again,

I'll check Be out...anything bad about them? :)

o2/BE then, from what others say fast speeds, and they don't cap d'loads.
shame about sky, as with them and have no problems, and are only UK ISP to offer truly unlimited BB.
didn't know AOHELL did LLU, then again who's with them these days/

Be can give me 2.5mb at my house...so same as Pipex could then really....gonna give em a call monday :) :D

That is only an estimate though, and as it will be using ADSL2+ it will likely be better.

I would say whether Be are going to be any good or not is going to depend on how much O2 have overloaded the exchange you're connecting through. Mine was really good but has steadily gone down the toilet in the last 2-3 months. But at the end of the day its only a 3 month contract and if you tell them its crap within 30 days I think they let you leave for free.

Past that I could highly recommend Zen, although you say you need no caps and no throttling etc. which really unless you can get an LLU provider that works for you it is not possible to get without paying for it.
