sorry to drag this thread back up....looking at the etch for my new phone. Some of the reiviews say the case marks the steel surround on the phone. Do you have such issues?

Snap. I might try taking mine back because it's clearly defective (the rubber has just come away from the rest of the casing near the dock connector)

How did you get on with this, did you try taking the bumper back?. I hadn't noticed before but after reading this thread I checked my bumper - it's coming away at exactly the same place as you mention. Rubber both sides of the plastic part is coming away near the dock port. I would honestly expected the bumper to have lasted longer than it has, my phone isn't subject to any heavy duty use or abuse so I'm not a happy bunny!

does the edge of the incipio featherlight sit above the front face of the phone?

I ask because it looks as if the phone glass would take the impact if the phone hit the ground face first...
