A sensible answer for you.
Get a Tefal steam generator iron, they cost loads but are a pleasure to use.
They really do cut ironing time down by half.

Excellent, thanks. I was beginning to wonder why the laundrettes dont use the cheap £10 irons from tesco for a minute
No point in spending over £30 on an Iron in my house they dont last more than 10 months (Argos have replaced under guarantee 4 times) as the lime scale kills them of stupid quick!
Currently using a Philips 2.2Kw steam Iron with ceramic plate, doing Ironing for the 4 of us is a slice of moist cake!

Bosch Power Steam TDA5620GB Iron.
its a beast of an iron, works a dream lots of steam and very hot blasts through my kit every day withut fail, its survived a year of abuse from me and my room mates, dropped numerous times, lugged around from camp to camp.
dispite looking a bit worse for wear it keeps on going.
i guess its one drawback is the speed it goes through water, have bucket at hand if you intend on doing a lot of clothes
