Spec me an ISP please...

My mate is currently on 512Kbps with Metronet and is considering stepping up his speed for a bit more torrent action...

Unfortunately, his house is unlikely to receive greater than 1.5Mbps on Max. What would be your ISP recommendation for price/quality?

£14.99/mo for 2mb. Highly reccomended!

Take a look , im on 8MB BB atm £25 a month its only ever gone down 2 times in 5 half years for me , customer service is mint never had trouble with them atall 50GIG cap , never toutched it

if your going to regrade from another isp its going to cost - £12.93 / if your going full new isp there is going to be £47 odd charge to join , beware

or maybe free ... kinda odd as it states that... atm they are doing a regrade for FREE

I am also looking for a decent supplier that is also cheap, what are peoples opinions on Demon 8mb @ £20 a month?

Demon used to supply us at work for over 6 years, it all went south when they switched over to non UK call centre's. After that it became way too much agro to get anything done :rolleyes:

I've just switched over the first of our 'home' users to AOL 8mbit with some quite impressive results considering the rural locations,if you migrate with your own router it's a monthly contract. If you don go with the monthly contract you get a DG834G (iirc - it's not turned up yet) so no need for the evil's of the AOL software!

They also do a 1mbit for 14.99 if you think you won't get much above 1.5, best bet as the 1st month is free is try 8 and then see what you get.
