basically ive been with tiscali for about 5 months, and after 3 warnings they have throttled my net to an unusable state between 6-11pm every day... they say daytime isnt affected but it is...

anyway i want a new isp, upto 8 meg, unlimited downloads, and hopefully no fair usage policy, as i like to download large files as and when i like

im willing to pay upto £50 a month.

thanks a lot =]

Virgin Media.
DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT, go with any adsl companies if you want a good steady connection with unlimited downloads!

Because everyone can get cable.... ;)

UKFSN;

Office MAX 135 135 GB 360 GB £45.00

Is the next best that I know of.

8-8 and weekends would be eating at the 360gb, daytime would be the 135.

Edit: Why didn't I edit....! :/

They did the same to me. The internet couldn't be used at all between those hours. One of my housemates phoned them and shouted at them about it and now it's fine, except IRC and bittorrent still don't work between those hours. Better than nothing though.

I'd change too, but I'm only here for a few more months so it isn't really worth it.

you'd be surprised how many people can nowadays;)
getting back on topic..
£10 = 2Mb/s
£25 = 4Mb/s
£35 = 10Mb/s
xxx = 20Mb/s (coming summer 07)
xxx = 100Mb/s (coming xmas07-summer08)

also the max speed i can get on tiscali is 3mb

(really should have thought about my 1st post before i put it up lol)

My adsl is volatile to say the least and i am with pipex who are supposed to be one of the better isps. It probably makes more of a difference where and which exchange your phone line is on however does it not?

Not really. :)

http://www.ntl.com/mediacentre/images/networkmap.pdf

Which is complete tosh anyway, my area can't get it, but yet they mark the whole region....

Edit: You sure Pipex are supposed to be one of the better ISP's Matt? I've not heard much other than bad things, and today I learnt how much they spent on advertising last year, and now they're for sale. :o

WotDa's right - cable availability hasn't changed in years, and it's pretty crap...

This is Samknows' map.

As for unlimited services, if you can't get cable you're pretty much screwed (and I'd be wary of any service that advertises as unlimited because you can bet it won't stay that way for long), though plugging your postcode and/or phone number into Samknows might give some suggestions.

Nor has the availability. ;)

That map is more accurate though, compare Northern Ireland on the two, lol.
