Just switched from Sky over to TalkTalk and i want to get out before my 28 days expires.
I've been looking at going back to Sky and just coughing up the extra fiver a month they want, but O2 seem pretty good too and I can just pick up one of their boxes from work.

Which of the two would you recommend or are there any other good ISPs out there with unlimited downloads for around £15 a month?

I've had a search but can't tell which is better
anyone here used both?

I was with UK Online (run on the same network as Sky, Easynet) and have just recently moved to O2 simply because I have my mobile contract with them already.

As you probably know they run on the BE* network which is a good start, I have been with O2 for around a month now and my connection has never skipped a beat.

I do a little bit of downloading and always see full speed (830kb/s, I live 2.3km from exchange, I am on upto 16mb package) no matter what time of day it is.

The only thing I dont like is that O2 will not take disable interleaving or even fiddle with it but my pings dont seem too bad, here is an example:

Code:
Pinging jolt.co.uk [84.234.17.86] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 84.234.17.86: bytes=32 time=30ms TTL=123
Reply from 84.234.17.86: bytes=32 time=30ms TTL=123
Reply from 84.234.17.86: bytes=32 time=30ms TTL=123

Ping statistics for 84.234.17.86:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 30ms, Maximum = 30ms, Average = 30ms

For the money they cant be beaten (in my opinion) but just make sure you get on their LLU network as their access package (runs on BT equipment) is supposed to be a very shoddy service in comparison.

Hope this helps,

Sam

o2 is excellent - at least here in Southampton! I'm somewhat over 3.5 kils from exchange so can only get minimal package £7.5 a month and every 3 months £10 on o2 mobile card. Never a hickcup excellent speeds on Torrents etc

I was also with uk on line which again was good but o2 is better (better than Sky)

I can't get Virgin in my apartment even thought all the houses in my street can. So I looked at BT and Sky. BT only do up to 8mb adsl but Sky offer up to 16mb unlimited. So I went Sky. I read Sky Broadband was poor to begin with but now have come on in leaps and bounds.
