As the title suggests I'm considering putting together a new HTPC in a smaller form factor than my current one which will be re-purposed as a PC for my wife.

Key factors are:

  • Should be able to run KodiBuntu & be suitable for steam in home-streaming (not sure if this can be achieved with KodiBuntu's desktop mode investigating currently).
  • No requirement for a discrete graphics card if CPU based integrated graphics are good enough.
  • Case needs to fit into space once occupied by a 360 and ideally not look out of place with assorted hi-fi equipment.
  • No requirement for an optical drive.
  • Budget build isn't essential but keeping it around the price of a console would be nice.

Have you looked at the Antec ISK110 case?
Asus H81i plus Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 4GB
Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258

Would just need to add storage to it (2.5") whether its an ssd or mech drive.

I like the ISK 300 ones they look like they should do. If there is GPU (no dual slot though) Element Q will do... Dual slot a RVZ01 from silverstone...
