Spec me an LED Torch

I bought a HS40 (I'm guessing the predecessor) at the beginning of the year & have been pretty impressed for the price. I got mine for DIY jobs round the house where I need to work in dark corners, or with power off etc, so didn't want anything too expensive incase I broke it doing stuff.
The HS41 is a cracking headlamp, it was only £27 too, which is an absolute bargain in my book! Looking at the HS40 I think you're correct, it's got to be the predecessor. They have a ton of different options on the Sofirn website that I hadn't even seen until I looked up the comparison a moment ago, including the HS40.

My Nightsearcher Explorer 1000 was stolen recently so I need a replacement. I bought a Nightsearcher Explorer 1200 but I'm returning it as it won't charge with a standard USB C cable.

So I'm looking for a recommendation or something roughly equivalent in size & light output to the Nightsearcher Explorer 1200 but that charges with a standard USB C charger.

While it's on my mind, I've bought a couple of these now, for awkward DIY lighting in two different households. Three brightness settings, and LEDs all over the face, so it's a more diffuse and all round useful light than my headtorch. The mount is almost infinitely adjustable to sort all sorts of awkwardness. Great stocking filler (if Charleze Theron isn't available).

Has anyone purchased from skilhunt - was looking at their Hi-cri headlamps, for running mainly (~100g) which seem to have well reviewed headbands too.

many seem to take protected or unprotected 18650 cells, other than maybe needing a button top spacer in the unprotected version
I don't understand if you can nonetheless charge/discharge them as safely in their torches.
(are unprotected cells just more risky if you had a low quality vape device say, or charge stuff in questionable chargers)

It seems on that site they will be shipped from USA - but I can't see, and will email to check VAT is taken, I don't want surprises from customs.

(e: vat was all included in the purchase as they had confirmed by email)
now got a skilhunt which is happily working for nightime running ...

just need to find an adapter for the bicycle too - any recommendations ?
aliexpress has the things on the left made of plastic, or more resilient metaalic truss clamps on the right.;
unfortunately fenix mounts only work for pencil type lights https://www.amazon.co.uk/FENIX-Lampenhalterung-Fahrrad-halterung-Alb-10-Standard/dp/B00J2G30SC
not periscope ones.

Maybe the Lumintop GTA but perhaps that may be a little too small:
  • Choose the Lumintop GTA if you prioritize an extremely long-distance, focused beam ("pocket thrower") in a highly compact form factor and value the flexibility of using different battery types.

I use the Olight mount for torches on the bike...

txs it seems stable enough then ? had seen it but wondered; you hold a periscope torch vertically ?
horizontally if torch doesn't stand-off much from handlebar so on one side of stem, I might knock it when using flats and my winter mittens.

but I can't be too critical for less than £10

went for fenix one when I realised I could rotate it 90 degrees and make it work for periscope light - light+collar slides in/out from top.
few/none of aliexpress options would have fitted 22mm dia without additional packing

Do you have a link for that torch mount please? It looks pretty decent, where I've had some where the torches rattle loose or simply rattle.

Felt the urge for a couple of new additions.
