Spec me an LED Torch

SolarForce Sales team are top notch!

I emailed them about the faulty 4 mode drop-in and initially they thought I'd been sent a 1 mode so said I could keep the 1 mode at a reduced cost and they'd send me a new 4 mode but I explained that it was a 4 mode just faulty and lower brightness at all times.

They're sending me a fresh 4 mode one, already got the tracking number :D

I guess the faulty one can be a spare I can dismantle and tinker with :p

I have a Fenix PD32 and a TK11 which both run on CR123 batteries. Can someone recommend a decent set of rechargeable batteries and a charger please? I think the 18650 would be the battery to use but I'm unsure of which one to get.

Theres a USB charger on amazon. Doesnt cost much but acts as a portable battery pack with torch, charges anything else with usb and of course the 18650 themselves. I doubt its the fastest but works fine with old laptop batteries and its convenient

Id like to try these ones too

This looks super cheap, would be good to try out. 3xT6 Cree + charger £19 and it says you can charge it manually by hand ? :D lol

Could someone recommend a torch?

Looking for one for work - Searching fields, dark alleys, dark rooms etc. and needs to be compact! (Police)

People have recommended the LED Lenser but unsure how good these are.

Has to be less than £50. Many Thanks!

Check out SolarForce Sales website, they often have deals on and you will get it from HK ~2 weeks, maybe even ~1 week.

This for example looks the business:

Works out at less than £35 leaving cash for a pair of batteries sourced locally.

My replacement 980 lumen 4 mode drop-in came today, took a week to arrive and I'm really pleased especially with the customer service from them. Certainly be using SF again! It's visually almost as bright as the TN31 but the TN31 throws the central beam almost 1000 metres into the distance, the 4 mode P60 has a smaller OP reflector so gets less, at a guesstimate I'd say probably 4-500 metres.

Still, it's so bright and the moonlight mode is just as good as the one on the TN31 that I no longer have a need for the TN31. I'm tempted to sell it in fact and just have the C8 for long throw spotting if needed and the L2T with this 4 mode for everything else. It saves me 3 18650s too.

Glad it got sorted mrk :D

Gotta love Hong Kong. Are you dealing with LG direct in Seoul or LG here in England, who I'm certain are probably a bunch of lazy gits.

LG UK I've already dealt with and yes they are lazy gits! They couldn't sort my problem and said to go to the retailer which is in Germany and now it's being dealt with by LG Germany who seem to not be able to read English as no emails are being responded to :S

Urgh, glorious isn't it?

Try emailing LG directly and tell them how much difficulty you're having. The East-Asians take customer service really seriously if you're polite and friendly :)

LED Lenser P7.2 or T7M.

Basically the same light but the T7M has some "tactical" stuff, glass breaker on the rear and some additional strobe modes etc.

Solid units, decent enough burn time (but carry spares) and a good balance between spot and flood as required. It's not going to illuminate a full field at 300 metres but it's plenty bright enough for General Policing Duties. Comes with a nylon holster also, will fit a 2 inch Duty Belt.

You can pick up the P7.2 for under £50. In-fact TorchDirect.co.uk are running a deal on it currently. If you plan to use it in the nick then I highly recommend you pay the couple of £ for the laser engraving. Chuck your collar number on it :D It's a really nice laser engrave/etch also.

I've only ever used a traditional torch and to be honest they have always been extremely poor light wise. I can only imagine what these new range of torches are like. Does no-one have any night pictures that show off the power of these things, as although they are works of art to look at, I'd like to see the sort of power they pack :D
