Spec me an MMO

Afternoon all, thinking about an MMO but don't really want to play WoW would prefer something new.

What's Aion like? Watched a few videos on Youtube and it looks quite good. I did try LOTRO and Warhammer Online as well. LOTRO was ok but wouldn't bother any further with WO.

Depends on just how different to WoW you want to get

Fallen Earth isn't bad for something completely different. Very heavy on the crafting side, you end up making a lot of your gear / vehicles.

PvP lean? or PvE lean?
Sandbox or Theme Park?
Fantasy or Sci fi?

EVE seemed like hard work to get into the first time I played it.

To be fair i'd like a game that's balanced in a similar war to WoW in terms of PvP/PvE etc, but just a different game!

No preference about fantasy or sci-fi.

I try to play MMOs that aren't wow, but I can't seem to accept how every MMO except WoW runs like a pile of ****e. WoW looks beautiful on max settings with AA and AF and Triple Buffering and Vsync and Shadows and doesn't EVER dip below 60 FPS.

I tried a few other mmos and they all feel ... stuttery and sluggish and just not very fluid :<

Trying fallen earth now. Game stays at 60 fps, but it just FEELS... crap.

I'd give City of heroes a try. Very different in feel to WoW although I know many people who play both. There's a 14 day trial but it is quite limited as you can't level above 14, you can't reply to tells and you can't speak in zone wide broadcast either. It is very cheap for a copy these days though, £9.99 on Steam including a months gametime. That doesn't include Going Rogue, the latest expansion but should give you an idea if you like it or not.
