Hello guys,

I have been asked to put together a few PCs for my company.

All we need is a computer capable of running Microsoft Office, and a few other programs without any hitches. (The current computers are around 7 years old... yuck)

The cheapest solution is probably best, I do not need any peripherals or monitors so just the bare essentials.

Thanks for the help.

you will be better off with an off the shelf system. either from overclockers - they have a range of budget systems that will suit your needs perfectly - or someone else who cannot be named :)

edit - you never know, if you are buying several oc might give you a discount if you call (always worth a try)

I'm sure you want everything included (i.e. monitor, software, etc), therefore it might be better to go for Dell or any other pre-built system.

But as a guide...

perhaps a couple of these?

ASUS EEE Box

They come with XP SP3 and MS Works according to the description, and a mouse and keyboard, though you mentioned you didn't need any peripherals or monitors, but they seem ideal, the energy saving aspect might benefit the company too, thats a bonus.

Edit:

Seems they dont have any optical drives so you would possibly have to include:

External Optical Drive

Makes each unit cost about £240 which isn't bad.

I decided to buy a couple of the Primo Basics as they looked fantastic value.

More to be bought if these turn out well.!
