I am now a bit bored of playing my usual FPS games and want to try something different.
I haven't really played many RPGs before, but I've always been interested in them - just haven't got round to sticking to one and playing it.
There are two games that I've played that are sort of an RPG, and they are Deus Ex and Heroes of Might and Magic: Dark Messiah, which I really enjoyed.
I've been thinking of going for the online RPGs, but it all depends on whether they are worth going for over ones that are single player. I tried WoW once before and found the amount of stuff I needed to enjoy the game ridiculous and stopped playing. Maybe I should've stuck it out with WoW but I didn't want to spend more money having to buy the expansions on top of the game price and subscription.
I am not sure which RPG is for me, so this is where you guys come in. I can only say that I would prefer to play one that doesn't require you to buy tons of stuff and do a million things before you can enjoy the game. Sure having to do things is part of what an RPG is, but perhaps it needs to be a bit more 'newb' friendly for me?

thanks
