spec me an RTS!

Hey guys,

Haven't played an rts in quite a while so am not really sure whats good and whats not these days! the last rts i really enjoyed and played quite a lot, was empires: dawn of the modern world, loved that! also heroes of might and magic 3, and finally quite liked the original civ net (the 2d version)

So what are you guys playing? Recommendations?

Haven't played Empires, but HOMM3 and CivNet are turnbased though, aren't they? Is it real time or turn based you're looking for?

supreme commander (heir to total annihilations throne) and download some mods for it, some good ones out there

the earth series (earth 2150, 2160) both great games, but steep learning curve, personally think earth 2150 is better but thats just me

don't personally like the C&C series, there too 'rush' orientated and even C&C red alert 3 features seems pretty dated, but i would really recommend the above, both can be had from a certain south american river for not too much

age of empires is legendary especially number 2 online or on lan. Number 3 is good, but i personally didnt like it as much as the prequels

Lord of the rings: Battle for middle earth 1 & 2. Simplistic but very fun I found. The soundtrack is obviously from the movies but its just so good
