looking to go conroe, also maybe gonna shift to crossfire? i game in 1600x1200 and will be more when i get my dell monitor in future

looking to spend about £1000

what can u suggest for me :)

You don't say if you need everything or if you will be moving parts across so I've assumed for the moment that you need everything and will sell off your existing PC to fund the upgrade. Given the budget this is what I'd go for, it should overclock brilliantly and allows an easy upgrade to Crossfire if/when you require it.

nice spec, yea i will need most things, got case, keyb , mouse, got raptors here too, dvd drives etc and sound etc., but thats lookin nice, the e6400 clock well on ds4?

lookin for gfx , psu , mobo , chip , cooling , ram :)

i should have said at start, sorry

The 6400 does clock well on the DS4 and the motherboard supports Crossfire so I thought it would fit your requirements nicely. I'd probably just remove the components you don't need and then it comes in at somewhere under £900.

However if you do want to spend most of the £1,000 you could then go for a 6600 and the Asus P5W DH Deluxe. The 6600 is clocked a bit faster to begin with and has 4mb L2 cache rather than the 2mb of the 6300/6400 chips, percentage wise however it doesn't tend to overclock quite as far. It depends on what you value more as both chips should clock very well but the 6600 starts out with more cache, the way I tend to look at it is that I could always overclock a slower processor but I can't add more cache. :)

ok decided to up my cash considering ive just got a nice bonus.

either that or wait for dx 10?

All looks good to me, the Galaxy might be slightly overkill even for Crossfire but since you have the money I don't see any harm in it as generally with PSUs too much is way better than too little. :)
