Spec Me An Upgrade

Hello,

I think the time has come where I need to upgrade my graphics card. Currently I'm on a HIS 3850 512MB. The sort of games I play are FSX and CS:S but I'd like to get a decent frame rate out of FSX on high graphic levels. I don't really want to be spending a fortune so say maximum of around £70-80

What CPU you using? Cause FSX is quite CPU dependent whether than graphic card. As for source games, and half decent card would be capable. But for your budget, probably a HD4770 512MB, 9800GTX 512MB, or 2nd hand HD4870 1GB.

The CPU would be fine, but ideally you should try to get to 3.2GHz if you could...if you are not stucked with a crappy motherboard like me.

As for graphic cards, already mention in my previous post.

I have an Asus P5k motherboard. I don't have that good cooling so I don't know if I can get it to 3.2. I can try I suppose

Iv heard nvidias cards generaly do better in fsx. Maybe second hand 9800gtx or similar for 50quid. Could be wrong tho
