After a lot of research... I almost ended up buying a prebuilt intel i5 system from overclockers at £720. However I have just decided to keep cost down and build my own system from the current spec I already have. Below is my current rig.

antec 900
560w silverstone st56f
intel core 2 duo e6320 1.86ghz
2gb corsair DDR2
asus p5b i965

optiarc ad-7170s-0b
1 tb, 1tb external and a 200gb seagate
radeon 1950xt GPU

I am lookin to replace those that are in bold.

Here is what I have made up from looking around on these forums...

Would this all be compatiable with what I currently have? (especially the PSU)
And what do you guys think of this set up?? Looking to spend no more than 500. Used for general use, photoshop, 1080p, bit of gaming - also considering getting a bluray reader/burner. How much are these at the moment?

Also what would the quietest gtx460 be?? I have heard the palit is noisey

Many thanks

Looks good but the gigabyte 460 is meant to be better n only bout a rennet more, re blu ray, you can pick up a blu ray reader/DVD writer reasonably cheap but an actual blu ray writer is still quite expensive, round the ton mark iirc

the 955be CPU can be turned into effectively a 965be CPU with just a clock multiplier increase of 1, which will take 5 seconds in the bios.

Ok so you recommend saving a few quid and gettin the 955 then overclocking it slightly? Would this be easy if I havent done it before ?

Oh right ok, thanks guys. I will go with that one probably. My PSU is powerful enough? It is around 3 years old so will it still be ok??
