Venturing into a forum I've not been in for a long while...
My current computer spec is well, rather old.. So I figured I had better upgrade it and see what new games there are available that I can play! I like RTS stuff have been playing C&C Generals recently, but also things like Q3 etc, but I don't tend to play online. I also play LFS, but thats not too hard on the old graphics.
I'm not sure what the latency on my internet will be like, I am using a wireless network card.
Current spec is:
Athlon XP 2500+
Abit NF7
1GB PC3200 DDR
WD Caviar 7200 160GB IDE
Nvidia 5900XT
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
D-Link random wireless network card, fairly recent supports N, G, A, B, C
TEAC 40x CD Rom
Pioneer DVD writer which I have never used
Enermax 431W PSU
Coolermaster ATSC 200
Now the main thing I was hoping was that I could reuse some items, like my case (as it cost a small fortune years ago and you can't buy them like you used to!), power supply, wireless network card and sound card?
And the second thing is, I have no idea what is good and whats not, and what works with what!
So I want someone to toddle off to the MM and point me in the right direction of a good bundle of stuff for a couple of hundred quid please! A CPU, RAM, MOBO and Graphics card should suffice?
