Hi, I am looking to upgrade my s775 setup and wanted some advice on how to spend my £500 budget. I use the PC for gaming, and surfing the internets. My system as it stands is:

Stuff I might be able to keep:
Graphics Card: nvidia GTX 470
Case: Xclio A380 in silver (now discontinued)
PSU: Tagan 700w (TG700-U26 iXeye I)
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 206BW 20" LCD
Keyboard: LogiTech G15
Mouse: Microsoft 5 button
HDD: 2x SATA 2 HDD (one 320GB one 500GB - Plus an external 1TB for media storage)
Optical Drive: DVD-RW SATA

Stuff I can't possibly keep:
Motherboard: BFG 680i s775 Mobo
CPU: E6750 Core2Duo 2.66GHz
RAM: 2x 2GB Corsair DDR2
CPU cooler: Zalman CNPS9500 LED

So, help me out guys, what is the wisest way to spend £500?

Thanks :)

SLI toasters? In a XClio?

You're utterly mad.

Thanks Stulid.

Do you think my Tagan 700w is up to the task of 470's?

Is the second card the best way to spend £150, might an SSD and some more RAM be wise? I like the idea, but I just wondered if there might be any other options :)

For gaming you dont need more than 4GB.

I would actually prefer to see a newer/more powerfull PSU for SLI GTX470.

You wont need that sort of GPU power for a 20" monitor.

PSU should be up to it, yes.

4GB is more than enough for gaming, surprised Stulid didn't mention SSD originally, he always seems to accommodate then into other specs :p

OK, So how might I spend that £150 instead on the GPU, an SSD? or perhaps a new PSU and/or a new case and when in a few months time when more graphically demanding games come out I will be more prepared to SLI?

A new case and a PSU that will just last through the years is a good idea.

Thanks Stulid,

Is that HAF likely to last a long time? I don't mind throwing in a little extra if I need a new case and PSU, so long as they stand a good chance of lasting a while.

OK, so a little way over my own budget, but that's ok. What do you guys think of this:

Then then I will look into an SSD and a second GPU around Christmas time. any thoughts?

No thoughts, it all will work perfectly well together etc.

The CPU, RAM and CASE are currently on special offer till early tomorrow morning.

The Fractal XL kinda suffers from air flow around the CPU. May need some work to get more air circulating to the CPU, like adding a 120mm fan on the 5.25'' bays (which will leave you with one 5.25'' bay).

The Fractal XL doesn't suffer from any air flow issues.

Well, if ever there were conflicting reports...

Even if it is true that the case has air flow problems unless I add a fan and chuck all the bays bar one that is fine. I have only had one 5.25" bay in my current PC for the last 4 years and I could count on one hand the number of items I have actually used it.
