Spec me an upgrade

Guys,

My machine is in serious need of a new heart! - see spec.

Can anyone recommend a reasonable upgrade to the mobo/cpu/ram that will last as long as the Q6600 has?

Basically don't want to spend much more than say £400 - PSU and GC should do for now.

Only other thing is would like a SSD to go with it all - this is in addition to the £400

As I said recommendations needed as I have been out of the hardware game for a while now!

What case do you have, so we can recommend a cooler to fit, unless you have one to reuse.

Good call - I have a Lian Li PC 60 - also current cooler is a huge Scythe thing - probably no chance of reusing that

If it has an 1156/1155 fitting, it should be all right.

What are the full details of the cooler, unless of course you want a new cooler?

Found the back plate for the Tower 120 so that looks like an easy component to keep

Yeah but for the sake of a back plate and some thermal paste may as well use the Tuniq Tower 120
