ok guys, im on the rig current in my sig, will be keeping the 780gtx but changing everything else, limit is around £1600, was going to wait for x99 but have the upgrade itch damnit!

this is what im thinking so far (never watercooled before):

thanks for the info, was thinking of later getting another 780 for sli, will 750w be enough? as i have 3 2tb hdds also to put in ? also with current games and video editing, maybe 16gb ram?

ok looks nice, is it better to have 4 sticks for 16gb or just get a 2 stick set,. plan to OC the cpu as much as possible
 
right now payday is here :D , the primo... whats the advantage over the 900d? both seem pretty similar! why would u choose the primo?

  • £75 in the pocket
  • better overall rad layout
  • Slightly smaller

Its not much of a difference between the two. Personally I'd just pick one you like the look of and can afford. Personally the Primo is more my Cuppa. :)
 
If you're going to spend £200 on a case, consider ditching the fluid cooling and getting a Silverstone FT02 plus an AIO for the CPU, and GPUs with blower fans. The whole case being rotated really helps cooling as the columns of heat do not interfere.
 
+ For the Phanteks, its an awesome case for watercooling, and has more options than the 900D! Check my build log if you want any inspiration as far as layout is concerned.

regarding powersupply a 750 would be enough for an SLI machine, i have the AX860i in my rig and the fan barely spins up with a 4930k + x2 780's

Also i believe its better to go clear coolant and coloured tubing than to go with clear tubing and a coloured coolant but thats just my personal preference!

If he does want to go down the Full Custom Loop route, that's a great suggestion.

Do you want a full loop OP? Cooling the GPU too? Or just CPU cooling? :)
 
Didn't realise the price was the same now. I would still take the EVGA for the extra warranty though. Those lights on the Leadex would do my head in.

They are pretty though. :)

Very true a 10 year watrranty is incredible, though don't forget the Leadex has a 5 year warranty, thats still a long time, i've had 3 PSU's in 4 years (not through them blowing up). :)
 
I was thinking of ditching the watercool set and building a full custom loop for CPU and gpu's, think it would give me more headroom!

That's not a bad idea but it depends on your GPU, what make/model is your GPU.

Some cards are reference cards which will support standard sized waterblocks. Some cards are not reference and may have specialist waterblocks or none atall.

Its well worth knowing what your card is before we starting speccing stuff.
