For a customer, I am looking for a piece of software which will hold all customer's details. When a customer phones up for an appointment, they can just find a free slot and put them in for that time.

Every so often (ie: every three months), the customer is required to return. So they would like the software to tell them which customers are due an appointment, print off these appointments (either by means of templated small cards or letterheaded paper) in batch - then all that needs to be done is stick an address label on, frank them and bung them in the post.

I did see a piece of software (but I've forgotten the name!), which allowed several computers to use the same database, and used the network to acess the database.

Yeah but I dont think the OP wants to start learning how to use Access, he just wants a program thats ready.

However Outlook (not express) will do most of those functions for you, only the printing on the appointment cards I culd see you having to set up.

If you dont wanna pay why not use Google Calendar? https://www.google.com/accounts/Ser...ontinue=http://www.google.com/calendar/render

No doubt there are some progs that are better designed for thee job, but those are the ones that sprung to mind :)

You need something like ACT!, Microsoft CRM or Goldmine, all are Customer Record Managment packages and are network ready. They would be able track your customer data and run off batch appointment reminders.

The only real thing you'll need to do is configure your database fields, input the data and then design some sort of appointment card/letter.

Job done! :)

My mate runs his Gascare company with 11 workers and 1000's of customers all using Microsoft Outlook.
All the customers are in the Contacts and all the jobs are in the Calender with 11 different sections for his workers.
