Need just a base unit, i will be reusing my monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers.

1GB RAM minimum, 2GB ideally.

Dual core would be lovely.

~100GB hard disk, more if possible

DVD Writer or rewriter.

Half decent graphics card for some gaming (mainly WoW, but some FPS would be nice too)

Case and PSU (not fussed about looks)

No Operating system.

Cheers :)

This might be suitable, the budget is slightly limiting when trying to fit everything in but I think this will give you a decent basic system with the potential for some overclocking. :)

PSU should be just about ok because it's a decent brand. If you could up the budget a bit more then I would suggest getting another PSU, especially if you plan to upgrade soon or overclock :)

Can you push it upto £560?

That'd get you an 8800. But you'd sacrifice the hard disk to an 80gig one.

Just another option for you to consider I guess :p It'd be a fair amount more powerful than a £60 cheaper spec.

I could push the budget a little, but i'd rather stay on the £500 side of the price bracket.

Some good looking setups there, gives me something to ponder before i put my order in.

Thanks :)

actually if i'm right that geil 2gig kit will go back to normal price tomorrow 115+vat i think?

Yeah... but there's the "G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NQ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit" still available for practically the same price, and that stuff's great - I'm running it now with no problems, and the load times seem much better than with my 1x1GB stick. Probably 'cos of the extra bandwidth in dual channal and rather than the extra capacity.
