Feel its time to move from air to water. The main reason is for silence. I have a closed case so aesthetics don't come into it. Never done water before so will take advice from this thread so please only post if you know what you're talking about.

So as not to overcomplicate things i will at first just cool my CPU but will, once comfortable with it all, expand to my GPU. Shouldnt have a problem installing once i get the kit (but any tips will still be appreciated) so mainly looking for the goods.

Running an i5-2500k and a 7850 in a Bitfenix Ghost.

The cheaper the better, but dont want cheap goods (if that makes sense).

To reiterate building for silence and dont want to add to my cost with pretty lights or colours.

I too would be intrested from the responses in here I'm also looking at getting into watercooling also with a similar spec to the op (i5 [email protected],7950wf3,bit fenix shinobi)

And would be going a similar way as op regarding CPU first then gpu or possibly both if I could've get the bits cheap enough.

Are there many benefits to going watercooled? What's the longetivity of the parts? What to avoid (makes, connectors, material used, coolant) what's good to use.
I've been watching vids on how to build loops and so on so know a little but you know a little but of info is dangerous! Lol
Do I need to change case or? I don't want to buy stuff that won't work in a CPU and gpu setup as this is the way I want to go.

Sorry to hijack and will remove post if u wish just find think there was any need for two pretty much identical topics.

I've only recently entered the world of water myself and to say i'm very impressed would be a huge understatement!
I opted for the OCUK V6 kit slightly modded with compression fittings and a few other bit an bobs.
Max temps i see now are about 42c after hours of BF3 and that's with my fx4100 @ 4.8 with 1.48 volts through it.
The kit comes with a smaller radiator as it's just for the cpu, but easy enough to expand later if you so wish.

4.2 but possibly push it more with water.

If you really wanted silence then a pair of Zalman reserators would cool your CPU/GPU no problem, they can be had pretty cheap used these days too. I used to have a pair cooling a HD7950 and a Xeon E3-1245V2 (basically a i7 3770), you should be able to get the i5 up to about 4.5GHz with them which should be enough for most people. Only issue really is they take up a lot of room.

So been looking into watercooling and got some parts I have my eye on and was wondering if u guys could tell me what they are like:(all second hand)

XSPC Rasa cpu block
Pump EK DCP 4.0
EK XT120 rad
Alphacool dual bay res

all to fit into a shinobi windowed case

Anyone?
