I recently bought OcUK's wonderful pre-built "Verso Avenger", based on the SN78SH7 SFF case. This includes an LG CH08LS10 blu-ray drive. The OS is W7 Home Premium 64-bit. The machine came shipped with my Shuttle drivers but no Nero/PDVD for the optical drive. After playing around with DVDs and blank CDs, I was relieved to find that Windows 7 already includes the necessarily software and DVD codec to go about these.
I want to buy my first blu-ray film today and I just wanted to be absolutely sure that I also have a blu-ray codec built into the OS, before I commit to spending ££'s on a film. If someone could please let me know, that would be great. If Windows 7 doesn't have such codec, what would be our rated commercial software to go about playing blu-ray films? Alternatively, should I have been given a software CD with my CH08LS10 drive when I ordered the system?
Many thanks.
