Hi there,

could you help me build the cheapest box for running XP. Dont need any add on bits like screen, mouse, etc.

It will be used in a network (5 of them) so need LAN. Will only really run Office and a inhouse windows based program, so as a min i would say 512ram?

Any sugestions would be great. Thanks. :D

agree with the above, however if you want to save the pennys you could pick up a B-grade mother board for £30 ish. I would also get a 80 gig harddrive as the price differnce is small.

Also you could change to a 3 gHz celeron for the same money, not saying you should as im not sure which is better. Its just an option is you perfer intel.

Can anyone shed some light on which would be better? AMD or Intel? (dont want a fanboy argument, just which of these 2 prossesors are better) Thanks

If you can get a p4 with hyperthreading id say that would be better, will cost quite abit more though
