I have an opening in my current gaming play list for a chilling out title.

I've narrowed it to 2 options , which I've looked at several times.

They are not similar titles but both have an aspect of chilled gameplay. So, to the question at hand..

Subnautica or The Hunter : Call of the Wild ?

Yeah I have Euro Truck Sim 2 (and American Truck Sim as well (and Farming Sim 2017 lol)

Is Abzu the diving one with the weird looking creature? Hmm, says on the steam page that a controller is highly recommended? I am utterly useless with controllers. Isnt Abzu effectively finished in a matter of hours though?

Having played both theHunter and Subnautica, I'd say it'd be difficult to pick between the two because they're both great games to chill out to. They both have the ability to have terrifying moments as well. Bears can sneak up on you in theHunter, and Leviathan Reapers can sneak up on you in Subnautica. Having said that, at the moment I find Subnautica far more interesting simply because of what you can do. You can go exploring either by swimming, or when you've gathered the resources, in a submersible that you've built using the in-game Fabricator. You can head off, find the perfect base location in the depths and set about creating the ultimate underwater home (see my shots in the Subnautica thread for more!)

I've enjoyed playing theHunter, but there's a lot to do in Subnautica even with it still being early access. I highly recommend it!

Dark Souls

Lol agnes, stop joking around! There's no way I could ever chill out in Dark Souls. That game is something else. It's amazing in it's own right, but how anyone can chill to it is beyond me! It just wants to ruin you at every chance it gets, and it makes those chances almost every few seconds!

Tombstone: As you've come from a UO background, I think you might enjoy the base-building aspect of Subnautica quite a bit. It obviously isn't the same setting, but going out and gathering resources to build stuff sort of reminds me of the days spent gathering ore in the mines around the Brit crossroads, to then take back to my sandstone patio near the Yew moongate. Only instead of PKers, you've got angry fish chasing you around!

Thanks, I think I may pick up Subnautica now then, give The Hunter a little bit more time to sort out its niggles and maybe come down to a £15 sort of price point
