Hey Guys

Got a budget of about £400-600 max

i currently have the

i7 920 gigabye x58 UD5 6 gig triple channel patriot ram

i know this is a good system build but am looking at a 3rd gen build to take advange of pci 3.0 and usb 3 etc, and hoping for an extra kick of performance hopefully. will add that something isnt quite right with my mainboard at present so it prevents me from overclocking my i7 920 properly and would sell the components after the new build

Looking for Ivybridge i5-7 pref i7 but ill let you guys judge
a really decent/reliable and easy overclocking mainboard
CPU Air Cooler/ all in one water cooling, a very quiet one is essentual
RAM - not sure the exact performance diff between dual/triple/quad ram?
i have the 6950 id be looking at another 6950 for crossfire

the PSU i have is a Corsair HX 750W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply

ive been really happy with it but id assume it should be fine for crossfire?

I would recommend the SilverArrow, but it's not listed. That or the K2 mount doom if you have a small-ish case, or the Phantek if you have the room. I've gone blue / black :)

Can put i7 in there.

You;re limited to dual channel on the 1155.

The 2011 stuff would push you to the edge of your budget quite quickly. IMO OTT.

I'm not a fan of crossfire. If you have the dough, a single 670 will do well.

Hi Thanks

By the way i have the NZXT phantom so space is no issue should have said this to begin with :)

Yeah, the Phantek will fit. Blue would look quite good in a white phantom.

can go with a £30 cooler if you plan on small overclock (4.2-4.4GHz). Like a True Spirit 140 if you want the upper tier of that range.

Too be honest i think id rather have a decent cooler even if im planning a small overclock least it will run cool for longer :), not sure if you can tell me what obvious differences there are between the gigabyte UD3 and UD5? par from the excessive price :P

Dunno exactly. Stulid has the UD5H wifi and he likes it. More ports, more voltage regulation, uprated audio chip (Realtek ALC898, Support for X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity and EAX HD 5.0 Technologies). You don't get the BoogieBug mouse mat though :)

The UD3H is a mean board already.
