Hi guys, not really up to date with the latest and greatest.

A friend wants me wants to rip out his guts and put in some shiny new stuff :)

He has an old psu, and and a cheap 5+ yr old core 2 duo setup.

He wants to upgrade the psu, cpu, mobo and memory, better chuck in a cooling fan too.

He's on a tight budget but should be OK as he doesn't game. He has W7 retail and will use the rest of the components from his current system.

I have never built an AMD rig and for his budget wonder if it would be the better option. He doesn't game but he would like a decent system that feels pretty snappy with day to day tasks.

A cpu with built in graphics would keep the price down.

Recommendations welcome.

1 x Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler - Black £11.99

If he changes his mind about gaming, the PSU will handle a good card. Can spec one with less power if he'd like to save a few quid.

Is it an ATX case your friend has?
