Spec me CPU cooler

Silver arrow will be the best overall cooler in terms of performance and noise. The noctua is just ad good but more expensive. Check the link in my Sig. Also there's nothing wrong with the VX either if you can get it cheap.

The VX is an excellent cooler, also it has the benefit of not blocking ram slots like the silver arrow/noctua nh-d14, very useful if you have high profile ram heatsinks, eg dominator's or patriot vipers.

Despite what everyone is saying about the BeQuiet - and it is an awesome fan, the Thermaltake Frio is actually better in terms of temp (even on low fan rpm, where it isn't noisy, contrary to popular belief).

The Frio weighs in at £43 here at OcUK but most other places are selling it for about £35

EDIT: If you can afford it, go with the Silver Arrow - didn't see your £60 when I first read it :p

Ive just put a venomous x rt into my sandy bridge system

Intel i7 2600k overclocked to 4.4ghz,Asus p8p67 evo, temps are 28-30 degrees with no load no matter what clock speed, under load at 4.4ghz its 50 degrees, 4.6ghz its about 55-60 degrees, Ive had it running at 5ghz and heat wasn't the problem, but voltage was.

i don't like the fitting for the venomous x, it still moves even tightened down.

if i had known i was getting a HAF x case for a surprise i would have gone with the noctua dh14

Saying that once you get to aroubnd 60 degrees the temps just will not go up, its superb under max thermal load, great cooler.

will be even better when i add another fan for push pull.

whats more astonishing is, it manages this with a totally silent 600rpm fan, i doubt the other dual fan coolers manage that lol, amazing really
