Spec me CPU/Mobo

So my motherboard died at weekend.
Rest of spec is
256GB SSD + few HDDs.
650Watt Corsair PSU
Gigabyte 7970 OC.
Windows 8.1.
8GB DDR3 I cant remember what type but Im sure its just 1333mhz stuff.
Coming from a 1055T 95Watt. Will be reusing my freezer 7 pro.
I am thinking 4670k with something like the Z97 Gaming 5 but there are so many variations Im unsure whether its worth the extra.
System used for mostly gaming and I will be OC'ing the CPU if I can.

Any ideas guys? Id like change from £300
 
Basically, get what you were looking at... cannot go wrong...but the cooler is a little weedy for the processor

If you like your AMD look at the MSI Gaming 970 and an 8350/20... you will save money and put the money towards a better cooler

Don't worry...there's no right or wrong when it comes to recommendations...all are possible choices with its own merits which OP could considering ;)

At the end of the day, it's down to OP do decide what he wants for himself :)
