So, I'm considering selling off the laptop, and using the funds to build a desktop.
I'm thinking/hoping I'll be able to get £800ish for my laptop (cost £1300+ not so long ago)
So lets say a max budget of £900 to 1k. This will need to include everything except a mouse.
I've a basic idea on GPU's, RAM and OS, but all the new CPU's etc just confuse the **** out of me.
So I've narrowed it down to -
8800GT or GTX?
2GB RAM min
XP/Vista - Not really bothered
20-22" monitor
Dual or Quad - I know quad isn't fully utilized yet.
WiFi card is a must, as thats how I connect to the net (have an old Dell which is hardwired, and solely used for safe browsing and online banking) might swap this around though, would make more sense.
I'm not a heavy gamer, but I want to be able to play anything I might fancy. No I don't like Crysis, so that isn't an issue
Help is appreciated
