As per title folks.
Free/open source if possible.
Its not for me, its for my dad's PC. I've been using backup for W7 in W10 & it point blank refuses to complete the backup, when its been perfectly fine up until recently. I backup onto a external drive & keep it handy just in case his hard drives fail or he ends up clicking on a ransomware email attachment.
For the record he does like to use windows mail 2012 on his PC & refuses to use any other email software (he's 80 years old & he's old school, doesnt want to change things)

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'd honestly use cloud storage with file revisions like OneDrive in Office 365. It does the job of keeping your files safe, and even if you get hit by ransomware, you can always revert to a previous version.

I like Laplinks PCMover which is great from taking programs etc over from one computer to the next. Great for fresh installs and getting things back to the way you like them quickly.
