Spec me few bits for £300

Hi there

Looking for a new cpu, ram, motherboard and cpu cooler for around £300-350.

Intel or AMD no preference just the best I can get for this money. Dual or Quad no preference. Any help be grateful

Also, are the new motherboards compatible with my current power supply an Emermax Noisetaker 600watt which is ATX 12V V2.0 Compatible

whats the system used for ?

i'd go for something like the following, maybe swapping the Q6600 for the 8500 wolfdale :

System is used for gaming mainly. I have an ATI 4850 already. I will be overclocking too.

i'd go with the 8500, the pc6400 memory should be able to get it up to 3.8ghz.

Go with the E8500. It will more than likely be a E0 stepping that loves to clock. You are going to need PC2 8000/8500 ram though as anything less will hold you back.
