Hi guys,

As title suggests, really. Been using my HTC Desire for internet/e-mail for the last week or so, but I can't take it any longer so I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get something sorted.

All I need is a CPU, memory, HDD, PSU and any case will do for now. Don't really want to go over £250 if I can help it.

Thanks in advance.

its over budget, but i cant really see were to save any more money.

I take it you have a graphics card?, if not, a motherboard with Integrated Graphics would be needed such as,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't have a graphics card, but I'm not a big gamer so I'm happy with onboard for now. Can always add one in the future if necessary.

another try,

the motherboard does have integrated graphics, but the cpu is horrid, DDR2 memory is old tech

Buy something 2nd hand tbh, if you're not fussed about gaming you could grab something that would be reasonably fast for £150-200

Gunna be hard to do that anywhere near budget with new tech without looking at competititors (Sorry OcUK but your prices are rubbish at times :p)

Ill e-mail you later ;)

Athlon II X3 - £60
MSI GF615M-P33 - £40
2GB DDR2 - £45
Western Digital 320GB 16MB Cache Caviar Blue HDD - £35
Corsair CX 400W - £30
Coolermaster Elite 330 - £25
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2. - £15

Should be roughly £250.

Cheers for all the suggestions so far. I'm not averse to buying second hand, but only from the members market as I'd expect any items on there to have been well looked after.

I might be able to stretch the budget a decent amount in a week or two, maybe up to around the £400-450 mark. Was wondering how much it'd cost for the same list of components but with a top level CPU? If I get a top processor (maybe i5, Phenom) and board then it gives me a good starting point and I can always upgrade the rest over time.

Thanks again.

you get free delivery, so this is just over £450.

motherboard has integrated graphics and Sata 3.0.

but its probably better to ask closer to the time when you want to buy, deals and prices change all the time.
