I already have:
HDD
DVD drive
Monitor (19” Widescreen, it’ll do until later)
Speakers
O/S
Tower (though, might purchase a Cooler Master Elite 330)

So just the core components needed, Mobo/PSU/CPU/GPU/Memory recommendations please guys.

My gameplay is varied, just been playing Mafia 2, but pretty much all the latest, looking forward to Driver: San Francisco

This is my first build :)

an extra £5 would get you the modular PSU that stulid has specced, but i wanted to keep this under £450

*edit*
stulid, any reason you went for the more expensive motherboard? i dont want to doubt your judgement but theres nothing jumping out at me to say its better than the asus

Thanks for the advice guys, what I originally had looks pathetic in comparison to what you guys came up with, so really appreciate the help, I think and mixed and matched from all of your suggestions.

I know the i5-2500K is the only one that hasn't got a locked multiplier, but I think the i5-2400 will do me fine, no intent to extreme overclock it into the 4.0Ghz ;)

Went for a non-moduler PSU, cables should be fine for me with a few ties.

This might seem like a silly question, but is there any advantage going with the MSI H67MA-E35 Intel over the MSI 61M E33, the only differences I can tell from spec are the new USB 3.0’s and the Sata 3.0 (Hard drive is the 3.0Gb/s variety). I know it looks like I'm just trying to cheap out :)
