Sorry for yet another one for you guys to look at.

I'm looking for a good gaming PC, that will be able to play the latest games for at least 3 years.

i was looking at the i7 CPU, are they worth the extra over the intel quad core ones?

Same with ram, is DDR3 much better then DDR2?

just after the base unit.
no need for a monitor, as i like my current lg 22" enough for now.
sound card would be a bonus, but it's not needed.

would also need an operating system.

Budget.

£1000 and £1300

My Effort :)

I'm looking for a good gaming PC, that will be able to play the latest games for at least 3 years.

Not going to happen, DX11 is out 'soon' and in even only 2 years the graphics market will likely be very different. Aim for lasting 1-2 years max, and then you will likely need to change GPU.

cheers guys.

regarding the games.

i'd like to play the current games in "high" mode, as long as i can play the new games in 3 years on low setting that will be fine. :)

Plenty of good specs here. I like kenny's, but swap the 4890 for an asus one. I don't know how much the voltage tweak might help, but for a tiny bit more, might as well, eh?
