Gaming Machine
Going to be running Vista (when released)

Want Motherboard, Memory, CPU, Graphics. Possibly sound (depending upon quality of onboard)

CPU - Looking at Intel, unless anyone can tell me AMD is better

At least 2Gb RAM

Roughly £1000 budget

Any recommendations?

Oh and Merry Xmas :)

Can be a lot cheaper if you just purchase a temporary gfx card which you can use until Apr 07 as this is when DX10 games I believe are being released, sure you can use it in Vista, WOW :p .....also when more DX10 cards are released the prices will drop...and buying a DX10 card atm only means you get a few more FPS and can game at 2560 x 1024...so why buy something you cant use to its potential...

If I had your money, I would rather look at watercooling as well so I can get the most of the cpu, and would settle for a 7600 gpu or 7800 just for a couple of months...They will still play majority if not everything you throw at it...depends on screen resoultion and a few other things but you will be able to play all the latest cards...

If you chose to go water cooling and get a cheaper gfx your still saving around £300 which means in Apr 07 you can buy a better gpu then the 8800 when its out and you will be able to use it for GAMES....

Anyway your call :)
