Hi guys, friend needs these items spec'd. What do you suggest?

cpu + hsf
gfx
hdd ~1-2TB
mobo
psu
case ~ £60
memory (16gb?)
Single monitor min specs: 1920x 29". Must have VGA and HDMI
No o/s.
No optical drive.
not fussed about SSD.

budget: £1050, with ~£250 spent on monitor

purpose: gaming. Prefer future proof to some extent - He does not want to have to upgrade within 4 years.

As said above, 29in for £250 is the stuff of dreams. Better to go with a decent 27in

The below spec sacrifices SSD for GPU and only uses the stock cooler.
