Hey guys,

Currently doing some research into cases for a new build and I need something which will fit the Corsair H100.

Budget of £50 - £100.

Thanks

Wish I could know everything new with 3 days research. :D
Sorry, it's the devil in me.

There are several thread here in OC and cooling about RMAing several times and finally getting different cooling.

Corsair claims to have found the problem but will be awhile before new product reaches the shelf and uses verify pump issue is resolved.

Well I know know what CPU's are there, new sockets and chipsets aswell as cooling solutions available. So I guess it's just enough education to get by.

When it comes to the pump issue, it seems to be because people are playing with the settings a lot, better off popping it onto max if you don't mind the noise.

I've been looking at the H100 issues and it seems to me that the following have been confirmed to work:

- Running the PC for 24hrs on it's side. - Trapped air etc?
- Putting the pump on a fan controller or adding a resistor to a molex connector to power the pump.

It's apparent from what I've read that if the fan runs at anything over the 12v e.g. 12.4v then it'll cause a grinding noise.

I thought it was pump making internal grinding noise which a pump should not be making. Think Corsair said it was a bearing issue of some sort.

Could just buy a decent cooler? H100 gets out performed by the D14, Phanteks THCP140HEFWFFGDE4NG-SB-E-2012 (close enough?) and the Silver Arrow-SB-E. All of which are far quieter when you reduce the fan speed.

Anyway, Bitfenix Shinobi takes a 240mm rad in the roof, and I think the Coolmaster CM-690 II Lite but not certain on that.

Corsair's own thread of 953 post before they closed it with this
This was just released from the Cooling Product manager about the Noise issue with some of our coolers.
Quote:
“Corsair has now tracked down and fixed a rare and hard to reproduce issue on some of our Hydro series coolers, specifically the H60, H80, and H100 when used in combination with certain power supplies in certain circumstances. The failure will present itself as a buzz or hum, similar to a hard drive seek noise, and may disappear and reappear at random times. This issue affects a very small number of units, and typically is more prevalent on power supplies that provide higher than +12.2V on the +12V rail, which explains why some users have experienced multiple units with the same issue – they’re plugging them into the same power supply.

Regardless, this has since been corrected and we are now shipping units that do not experience the issue. If you’ve got a noisy H100, H80, or H60 unit, and the noise is coming from the pump (not the fans), we’d like to offer you a selective RMA. Please email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Hydro Series Buzz” and include your name, phone number, shipping address, and email address. We will contact you to start a replacement with a known good unit.

Thank you, and we appreciate your patience as we corrected this issue. “

So they CLAIM to have solved a RARE problem????

After how many buyers paid out of pocket to return.. sometimes more than once.. and now they will let peps know when they get a CLAIMED good replacement after 11 months of problems. How long before they let peps know? Why is thread now closed?

You get what you want.

I get what I want... and it's not a Corsair CLC

I don't think the thread is closed mate!

I take any advice as advice which should be regarded, I got a few weeks till I go out and buy the stuff anyway and I would like to thank you for all of your information!

Just to clarify RedTop89 That is not the Phantom 410 but the Normal Full-tower Phantom.

You can tell from the power on button, the amount of hard drive/CD drive bay's,
And how big it is compared to the components inside.

:)
