guys,

as title really, looking for a good hdd caddy (sata) that
comes with an e-sata connection and is hot swapable.

any recomendations?

cheers

2.5 or 3.5"? I'm using the standard blue Akasa one from this site with no complaints, got one of the 3.5 and one of the 2.5" ones.

They're hot swappable if I'm using ahci, but do you mean ones which fit into the computer and can be pulled out? If so one of my friends uses an icybox but doesn't rate it for build quality.

The Icy Box I have is pretty good TBF.
Good solid build quality (all alu), e-sata ready (even comes packaged with the apropriate port adapter), but its not hot-swap.
However, changing them isnt exactly slow either, takes me about a minute.
Ive never understood why people need hot swap in fairness.

I cant grasp why people feel it neccessary to be able to remove and replace a fragile piece of kit in 10 secs or less.
I may be missing something really obvious though, can someone enlighten me?

it's a 3.5 (External), will have a look at the Akasa you mentioned. I have a few old
HDD lying around, and wanted to be able to slot any of them in or out relatively quickly, would
you say the Akasa's build quality is decent?

cheers
