Spec Me: HTPC Case

Hello,

Finding HTPC cases is easy! However i cannot find one that will take my old yet suitable chaintech motherboard, as it requires conection to a 5 1/4 bay

I cannot find a HTPC with a DVD driver plus a spare 5 1/4 they all seem to be really slim!

I need my motherboard to have it, as its vital for the computer to work plus gives me more add-ons. USB, Card Reader, Remote Control , Firewire and headphone socket.

Anyway i would really appreciate an answer

so i need a HTPC case with a DVD bay and a 5 1/4 bay

Silverstone Lc17-b, the best value case you are going to find.

it also has 4xusb, 1xfirewire and mic and headphone sockets that flap under the drives

now, i realise it doesnt have a full bay free, but the only thing you are missing there is the card reader, right? which you can get a usb one, or get the card-reader modual for the case instead straight from silverstone.

Silverstone do several, some of them are covered like the one above while there are some which have standard bays.

asus xonar d2 soundcard
e2160 @ 3.1ghz
1x sony 18x dvd writer
1x pioneer bluray reader
thermaltake max orb cooler

2x80mm fans at the back, 2x92mm fans at the front and that its. it never overheats, its never too loud, it just works. fast

Thanks....I may get one these silverstone HTPC cases instead of a Antec Fusion HTPC case..

That way i could put my 8800gtx in it from my TJ07,, when i upgrade to a 9800gtx (or whatever the new nvidia GPU card going be called)...

Plus i got a spare AMD ATX motherboard / AMD 4400+ x2 cpu / 2GB DDR1 / 2x 300GB drives i could make it up with...(Just need to find a PSU

)

I won't be getting one now...as this silverstone case is way to tall to fit in my AV stand :mad:

i'm looking at putting my system into that same case soon (having a full size tower sat next to the tv is beginning to annoy the wife.

you think all my components will fit?
