Hey guys,

Some of you may remember this thread.

Well it's our turn to host again and this time the theme is Italian.

So, I need suggestions! There will be roughly 6-7 people, I want quite a bit of variety and for people to feel that they are getting Italian, and not just a pizza :p

What do people suggest? when I was in Italy last year our meal was about 5 (albeit small) courses, and it was divine, we had a pasta course, meat one, cannot remember what the others were. But for example the meat was a hunk of beef cooked, then sliced and presented on rocket and it was fantastic.

Feel free to throw some ideas in, I love cooking and giving anything a go in the kitchen :)

Cheers,
Jake

Make ice-cream for desert! No idea how but a good italian choc ice-cream is amazing

Was just thinking of that, when I was there I fondly remember ice cream parlours being open 24hrs!

I may have to employ a certain photographer for the job ;)

Anywho, been talking about this with a friend and we're thinking...

Small salad of sorts for starter
Bruschetta 2nd
Cannelloni for mains
Tiramisu/Ice Cream/Lemon Sorbet for dessert.

What do people think? According to her it's all easy to make (well she is a woman she'd say that) But I reckon it sounds like a winning combination.

That's called Tagliata and is one of my favourite things of all time!

What about pear and gorgonzola ravioli for starters, it's a fantastic flavour combination...

4OD....

Lasagne, yes it's an easy option but then again nothing but nothing beats a great Lasagne :) Go fancy on starter, nice wine, nice main with salad plus fresh baked bread, then desert ;)

Start with something like this.

Fresh coffee - fresh ground, whole cream, espresso machine. Would go down a treat !

In fact, if some guests wants to, a shot of espresso pour into the ice cream tastes awesome!

Well tonight was success! :)

Cannelonni for main, complete success. I was very sheepish as its my first attempt at Italian (like, ever!) and when I sat down last after serving I asked my cousins "so, whats it like?"

They were digging in "Omg Jake this is amazing"

Suits me :D - Very pleased! Surprisingly easy to make!

Here we all are, my sister took this.

Scuse the lack of grammer, bottle and half of wine down now :)

Only sensible question is why is your light switch trying to escape??

Dinner looks quality though! (apart from the very un-italian bottle of ketchup on the table!!!)

We have nearly finished renovating. It's one of the remaining things to do :p

And my cousin is the ketchup fiend! - Thanks for the kind words :)
